Coconut water?


I’m sure by now almost everyone has heard about coconut water or at least tried it once. It’s hugely popular around California and probably most other states in the U.S.

I wanted to talk about the benefits and brands that I like to drink since there are just so many on the market these days.

Coconut water obviously comes from coconuts and helps to hydrate you. A lot of dancers and athletes drink it and swear by it’s wonders. I personally love it, after a hard workout or just as a nice tasteful but healthy drink ( soda replacer )

Some other benefits include: Very good source of B-complex vitamins such as riboflavin, niacin, thiamin, pyridoxine, and folates. Found to have significant anti-ageing, anti-carcinogenic, and anti-thrombotic (anti-clot formation) effects. Fresh coconut water has a small amount of vitamin-C (Ascorbic acid); It provides about 2.4 mg or 4% of RDA. Vitamin C is a water-soluble ant-oxidant.

Also a lot of brands tend to add sugar to the coconut water which should be sweet naturally without the need for added sugar so that’s something to avoid when shopping for it in your local store. Always read the ingredients,make sure it’s actual coconut water and not mixed and added with other things.
